REALITY CHECK: Successful Real Estate Farming DOES NOT Happen Over Night

by Chris Leo - Feb 9, 2014

This past Friday I got a call from a somewhat new client. I say somewhat in the sense that he and I have known each other for quite some time, however he and his business partner have recently signed an agreement with my firm to have us take over all their marketing initiatives.

Anyone that knows myself or my firm knows that we are very active on social media. We post lots of educational marketing articles, tips, tricks and also just the regular “stream of life” that is going on with the company and people in the firm. Part of that is posting when we land a new deal, or start working with a new client. One might say that we tend to practice an, “everything on the table” way of life.

Why Realtors Avoid Their Sphere – Free Call Scripts And Letter Download

By Nadine Larder on January 25, 2013

As someone who has coached many real estate agents to substantially increasing their income, I can tell you that I’ve never met a Realtor who felt comfortable about contacting their sphere of influence. There isn’t any excuse or story I haven’t heard before, and they’re all valid, but they’re still stories. They’re the kind of stories that keep business a owner from doing what works to grow a real estate practice at the fastest, most profitable and most practical manner.

It’s rare to find an agent who isn’t isn’t resistant about reaching out to friends and family, and would rather approach complete strangers about their business than the people they already know. And…I can tell you with 100% certainty that changing your mindset about contacting and working your sphere of influence will change your business dramatically.

By Seth Price

We’ve talked about content marketing a few times before: what it is, what flavors it comes in. But what makes it so special? Why bother creating pages of writing, hundreds of images, and hours of video when all you’re trying to do is sell properties?

  • Content builds trust

  • Establishes you and your company as experts in the industry

  • Gives you something to share in the social web

  • Drives organic traffic through SEO and social media sharing

To provide more detailed answers to these questions, we have to do some thinking about how the real estate industry has changed over the last decade.

No. 1 mistake real estate agents make in lead generation: thinking a lead is a dead end if it isn’t ready right now

by Christina Ethridge

That’s it. It’s not something fancy. There are no semantics (although lots of “experts” will make you think so). If you have a single way to contact that person, then that is a lead.

Some “gurus” define leads as having a full name, a phone number (at minimum), and have expressed interest in your services. Sorry, that’s wrong. Especially with the advent of the Internet.

A lead is sometimes even JUST an email address. No name. No phone number. Sometimes it’s even Mickey Mouse or Arnold Schwarzenegger (you know, those fake-name sign-ins who give you a real email address).
